The campaign offers a unique perspective by leading us into a potential sinister future, where science fictionalized characters have been forcefully consumed by technology and social media.
Alongside the dangers of social media addiction the campaign also touches on subjects, such as data collection. Large corporate entities, such as Facebook and Google, are constantly collecting, storing and analysing our personal data without our knowledge or consent and selling it to other corporate organizations for selfish monetary gains, without our permission. The collected data will allow these corporations to make digital copies of ourselves. The more time we spend online the more we are giving up our data, our time and ultimately, our freedom.
The campaign reminds us that it is very important for us to stay aware, limit our time online and guard our digital identities, since by not doing so we are inevitably heading towards a new form of slavery in a dystopian future.
